Our Story

It started with one very sore little tooth.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Bill Madytianos was trying to help his sister through her daughter’s painful teething experience. Like any good uncle, and dentist, he went looking for a reliable resource he could recommend.

There was plenty of information online, but no simple, comprehensive guide made specifically for parents and carers that brought the important stuff together in one place.

So Bill decided to create it himself.
And that was the beginning of Tools for Teeth.

Dental advice without the dental degree

Parents shouldn’t need a dental degree to understand how to look after children's teeth. Tools for Teeth combines the latest research with real-world clinical experience to provide practical advice that parents can use.

No scare tactics.

No confusing dental jargon.

No pushing products you don’t need.

Just clear, evidence-based advice to help you make confident decisions about your child’s oral health. Because when you know what to do, it’s easier to build good habits, prevent problems and know when it’s time to ask for help.

Meet Dr Bill

Dr Bill Madytianos is a dentist, dental educator and researcher with a passion for preventive dentistry and children’s oral health. Alongside his clinical work, Bill has spent much of his career researching and publishing in dental journals and furthering his studies in dental public health, with a focus on understanding and improving the oral health needs of the community.

He is a Clinical Lecturer and Research Academic at the Melbourne Dental School at Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne, while also working as a general dentist in metropolitan Melbourne. His work brings together clinical experience, academic research and public health — all with one simple goal:

To help parents feel confident about their kids’ teeth.
